Recruitment and Selection

UNC’s educator preparation programs employ a multitude of strategies to recruit, select, and retain the highest quality of teacher and principal candidates. These indicators provide a snapshot of the admission requirements and minimum criteria for selecting and recruiting candidates.

    • Selection Criteria-This descriptive data illustrates the criteria for acceptance into UNC’s teacher education programs, including both academic and non-cognitive criteria.

    • Academic Profile Comparisons-This data provides a comparison of the academic performance of education graduates versus non-education graduates by institution.

    • Licensure Exam Results-This indicator displays pass rates for students who completed the Praxis assessment(s) for initial certification or licensure in their field of preparation. Pass rates are displayed by year and institution.
